Nozawa Onsen is something quite special, one of the steeper Japanese resorts the ski terrain is superb. Couple this with a unique Japanese town you can really experience ancient Japan.

 

Its well worth staying in a Ryokan ( Japanese guest house) and getting the full immersive Japanese experience. Combine the skiing with the hot pools and the food and you have unique cultural experience you will find nowhere else!
